sx devices lead free ?

Hi,

Hope I posted this in the right place.

Does anyone know if the SX range of devices are lead free and·RoHS compliant ?
I couldn't find anything in the datasheets but maybe I didn't look in the right place.
We're looking at including·a·SX device in a new product but it has to conform to RoHS.
I'm assuming they must be lead free and I just didn't see it.

Thanks
Paul

I'm not sure if the current SX's are lead free, but I'm almost certain that I read somewhere that the new Parallax SX's will be available in RoHS compliant form either by the end of this year or at the begining of 2006. I tried doing a search of these forums, but for some reason the search page isn't opening for me. I'm sure it won't take long for Jon to chime in will the exact info you're looking for·(he knows everything smilewinkgrin.gif ).

Thanks for the info, I can now go ahead and include it in our product.

The comment about new datasheet and undocumented instructions is interesting, guess we'll have to wait a little longer to see what those instructions are and if they're of use in our app.

    Thanks again

No need to wait, those instructions are discussed in this thread. A general warning is that those instructions are used by the debugger on the SX key, so thier use will most likely interfere with the SXkey's ability to debug.
