Does the Javelin Stamp have a Watch Dog Timer??

I want to use the Javelin Stamp in a remote application and really need a watch dog timer to provide a safe guard against a loss of comms. Also if the Satmp dies ( bad coding to cause a software problem.....memory, etc..) I would like the Satmp to reset. Can this be done??

Thanks
Mike

The javelin has no watchdog. You need to add an external, independant watchdog.
The MAX6301 is a good option.

Thanks, Would seem an ideal use for a VP. Is it possible to perform a Software reset on the Javelin?

    Thanks again,

You can generate a reset by placing a 1k resistor between the

reset pin and an I/O pin. Just leave the I/O pin an input and when

you need to reset, make the pin a low output.

In case you use MAX6301, just stop pulsing the MAX6301 and then

the MAX6301 will reset the javelin.

The best way to generate pulses for the MAX6301 is to toggle a pin
each time you loop your mainloop.
No need for 'complex' vp constructions.
Remember to place a jumper between the pin and the max6301.
Remove the jumper before downloading to the javelin.
Once downloading is complete, re-insert the jumper.

    Mike,
To be absolutely clear, the jumper should be placed between
the javelin reset pin and the max6301 output.
