BS-1 output ---> [what goes here?] ---> small relay

What is the reccommended interface between a BS-1 and a small DC relay, such as an "ice-cube" relay or reed relay? In this case, several outputs may be ON at once; it is for a fountain - sequencer controlling sprinkler - valves in·a water·fountain. Is there a cookbook solution for this?· Any links for reading would be greatly appreciated!··· -thanks

The best solution would be an ULN2803.· Has 8 channels.· A HIGH output from a Stamp pin turns a channel ON, which takes the corresponding output LOW and logically grounds one side of your relay.· The other side of the relay is connected to its supply voltage.

The Prop-1 controller would be ideal. It is basically a BS1 with the ULN2803 chip already on-board.
It also has screw terminals for your relay connections.

Learning from scratch

I use solid state relays for all switching on my stamps,· you can get them at eBay really cheap.· Three to five volts of logic will switch six or more amps 120 AC.
