QTI Sensor Range

Hey,

···· I am currently building a robot for an upcoming competition. I'm using the Parallax QTI sensors to detect white lines on a black surface. As I am in the CAD Design stages, I would like to know what the furthest distance the sensor can be placed from the detection surface. I havn't been able to find this information in the online documentation, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you kindly for your time..

Cheers!

R.K.

The sensors used on the QTI want to be about 1/4" from the surface.

    Jon -

Would you mind double checking that distance figure of .25 inches for the QRD1114? I'm coming up with a number that's more in the range .125 --> .20 inches. Granted it involves interpolating the distance from a graph, at least the way I did it.

    Thanks!

My mistake -- I was going from memory, and another sensor element. I agree with Bruce on the 0.125" - 0.200" range.
