Hi I am having a small problem with the forum. Anytime I try to open a pfd file that is in the atttachment area of a posting I get an error message saying file could not be found. Any ideas how to go about opening the files?

Thanks David Warren

Do you have the latest version of the Acrobat reader? Perhaps you should download to your system before opening - right-click on the link and select "Save Target As..."

Hmm... may be a system thing; I get that kind of issue with .BS2 files that get posted in the forums (hence I append .TXT to my demo postings).

    David W.,

My first guess would be that when you installed the latest version of Acrobat, it got put in a different place than the old one occupied, or the name changed, and your registry did not get updated for your web browser. In essence, your browser has a "helper application" defined for opening files of type "pdf" and it can't find that application. Findong where those "helper applications" are defined in your browser and making sure that the "pdf" handler is pointing to the right place would probably be my first step. If that doesn't help, I'd re-install Acrobat.

(The reason I'd look at the browser first, is because you said that "Save As" works. That would indicate to me that your "OS-level" file associations are correct).
