Help with LTC1298 12 Bit Analog to Digital Converter

Me As Usual!
I am attempting to get this LTC1298 to work. I am Almost positive that I have it wired correctly. Attached is a sample program and I have tried both inserting 0-5volts between pin·2 and ground and also directly across Pin·2 and Pin 3.....Nothing...As a matter of fact I can not get the Channel to change...What's up? Totally confused as usual. Thanks for your help in advance.

    Guido,

    Do you have a sketch of your connections?

    The program looks like the one I've used with the '1298 before; it works great as a "getting started program".

    Double check connections and make sure gnd on the chip is the same ground as the Stamp.

    It is driving this old Italian nuts. I used the sample schematic off of Parrallax Doc's. and I can not find any problem with the wiring. I can put a straight 5 volt into pin 2 of the LTC and still nothing...and yes I am using the same ground
