Kinetic Movement

This question is more about sensing motion and less about using kinetic energy.

I want a small basic stamp device to sense motion and then begin its program.· I have a few questions/comments:

1. Needs to fit on wrist (can a basic stamp circut fit inside, say a G-Shock size watch?)
2. Could it use the hall effect placed on a rotor, not to detect RPMs but rather the passing of the magnet (once again it needs to be small enough to fit?
3. Where to find watch sized LCDs?
4. How to power such a device with watch size batteries?

Crazy ideas, I know, but the biggest concerns are size and power.

Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated.
