Hello,

I was wondering, if it would be possible to set op some sort of communication between a BASIC Stamp 2 and a Texas Instruments 83 Plus Graphical Calculator.

Can someone help me setting this up?(I have reasonable knowledge of borth the BASIC Stamp and the TI-83+ and TI-BASIC).

Thanks

    Hello,

·· Does that knowledge include the specifications of the communications protocol used by the TI-83+?· If I knew how it communicates it would be easier to say if the BASIC Stamp could be used.

Oh, sorry, know, not really, but I scouted out the internet and found out that it uses I2C, so it shouldn't be that hard, but the problem I found then, is how to use I2C in TI-BASIC programs(used by the calc.) otherwise I would have to use ASM, and I don't know anything about ASM at all tongue.gif

Hmmm, the software for the Ti-83+ doesnt seem to be of the right type, when I trie to download it to my calculator(TI-84, I dont have the link cable for a 83+) I get an "Incompatible type" error. Does anybody know how to solve this

If you read the description in that link it says this only works for the TI-83plus. I take this to mean not the std TI-83 and certainly not the TI-84.

But why wouldn't it work on a 84?

And anyway, I only use the 84 to transfer the programs from my PC to my 83Plus, so I dont have to execute them on the 84.

BTW, sorry that I used TI-83 in stead of 83+, I have the 83+ rolleyes.gif
