i would like use photoresistors to read light/ dark shifts on a television moitor; I believe I can suction cup them to the screen. Has anyone found such devices pre-built?

I would like them to look nice, as the final product will be in the form of an artwork.

thanks

    froslie,

·· You can get suction cups at Wal-Mart.· It would seem if you simply glue the CdS Cell (Photoresistor) to the back side of the cup using rubber cement it should work pretty good as long as the rubber isn't too thick.

Carefull.....The (sometimes exposed) metal terminals on the CdS cell can pickup a lot of interference from your TV.
You might want to consider using an IR-photo LED instead of a CdS cell.

I'm not shouting, i have been able to read and type all caps much easier for over 50 years.

I think it is gdc who makes monitor accesories . They make a monitor crt movment indicator, suction cup with hole all the way thru the mounting stem to the inside. A photo transitor pushed into the hole from the back side. The wires go to a adjustable transistor amp in a box with a tone oscillator to warn if the area under the detector shifts. It also has a relay output to control a external alarm or device.
