From BOE to permanent circuit?

I built a circuit based on the circuit from Activity 4 in Chapter 3 (pages 83-88) on BOE with BS2 chip. How can I build a permanent circuit? Buying another BS2 chip and a BS2 carrier board as well as some electronic parts may·be too expensive for me. I wish to create a circuit that flashes a LED when I push its button.

If you post a schematic of what you want I might be able to make you a PC board on my little PC milling machine.

The schematic is on page 84 with a third pushbutton circuit connected to P5.

Since Parallax doesn't have their BS2 OEM kit on sale anymore, a low cost solution that doesn't require a Stamp carrier board is the Stamp Stack II for $34.95 at www.hvwtech.com/products_view.asp?CatID=90&SubCatID=93&SubSubCatID=138&ProductID=42

You can build the circuit on a prototype cicuit board (available at Radio Shack for $4 or less) and solder the Stamp Stack II to the board. Note the Stamp Stack II is a kit - you'll have to solder it yourself.

Jeffrey, I found the schematic.· Do you want a third LED or just 2 LEDs and 3 PBs?

OK, Jeffrey.· I have your little board all laid out - 2 LEDs and 3 PBs.· Board size is 2.4 x 1.250, single-sided.· Resistors are 1/4 watt, PBs are Parallax Tact Switches.· You can use 1/8 watt resistors if they are available.· There are pads for connection to P3, P4, P5, P14, P15, Vdd and Vss.· If this is all OK let me know and I will see if my little milling machine can make it.

    Hello All,

·· The Sale on the BS2 OEM has been re-instated again by our Sales Dept., because of another thread which Ken mentioned keeping the Sale price for awhile (Due to it's increasing popularity).· Sorry for the confusion.· Enjoy!· =)

Sid Weaver, I don't want switches and LEDs soldered to the board that you're making. They will be mounted on a simulated car dashboard. Yes, I want 2 LEDs and 3 switches.

The assembly manual that comes with the HVW kit is is tremendous. Parallax should revise the one that comes with the BS2OEM.
    (my 2 cents)

I found the "manual" in the BS2OEM kit to be adequate. I don't think it is intended for beginners, however. The original intent appears to be to professionals/companies developing embedded solutions. As a hobbyist I am attracted to the value. (Besides, I like to solder things together...)

    Just MY $0.02 worth:
