Debug window and Media Player (DirectX) gives a blue screen

Hi,

anyone familiar with the phaenomena that when i have a media player (Win Media Player, WinDVD, DivX Player, etc) and opens a debug window, it automatically gives a blue screen and starts memory dumping?

I have a 2.8 GHz P4 with 1 Gb RAM, Win XP Home Ed, ATI Radeon 9600 video card and a USB -> serial adapter to link to the BS2p

Not critical, just annoying, since I use my computer as a media center as well.

Windows should be issuing an eror message on the blue screen, or just before the blue screen appears. Without that message, any effort at finding a solution would just be guess work. Personally, I'd look at the following link first, before presuming it to be a Stamp problem:
    http://support.microsoft.com/

I entered just "media" and "blue screen" and got tons of hits.

    Regards,

Are you getting a Blue Screen with a message?· Or is your PC restarting?· Windows XP, by default will simply restart the computer when you would normally get the "Blue Screen Of Death."· You can change this behavior by going into your System Properties/Advanced/Startup and Recovery/Settings·and uncheck Automatically Restart.· Click okay.· Now you will see the BSOD messages.
