It's Only A Stupid Question If You Have Not Googled It First!!

I'm sure one of the Parallax guys will jump in with the details on this one, but the fundamental problem with trying to program wirelessly is that the wireless link does not maintain the handshaking required when the program is downloaded.
If there's a way around it, I'd be interested as well as I use the MaxStream's too.

    Cheers,

Is the device you're using advertised/rated for being able to program the BASIC Stamp wirelessly?· If not, chances are it won't.· There are timing and protocol issue that must be in place in these types of devices to handle that.

That raises an interesting question. What devices/modules, if any, have the Parallax stamp of approval that they can be used to wirelessly reprogram the stamp?

And has anyone else managed to reprogram a stamp wirelessly with anything?

    Gentlemen:

···· I have used the Maxstream modules with parallax products. It's been about a year and I am at a loss. If I think long enough it will come to me. Look in the documentation, there are some changes you need to make in the streaming packet sizes, it's a bit like the fragmentation threshold. I actually had some good experiences with the maxstream product. If you call maxstream for tech support they may also be able to help. I will look back at my Engineering notes when I get a chance. It may be a week or so as I have a family emergency to attend out of town.

···· Make sure you have the correct version of software for the specific module you are using. I vaguely remember having an issue. the downloads are available at the site. I am thinking I had to use 4.9.6 or some sort. I was very impressed with the range of the devices. Again if you run into a problem you simply lower the threshold. There are also different operating modes for the devices. I was able to mimic a direct wire connection using full duplex mode with a reduced packet rate.

    ···· More later

We also carry the ToothPIC Module, which acts as a wireless serial link, but also provides the ability to re-program the BASIC Stamp over the connection.
