playing sound files with the BS2

Is it possible to use the BS2 in combination with my PC to
(1) play interactively selected sequence of short sound files and
(2) wirelessly transmit them to a hundred feet away?

I am new to BS2 and microcontrollers, and would appreciate
any help.

Why would you want to use your PC at all?
There are sound modules that can save short speech files that you can access with a Basic Stamp. I'm not sure about any specifics, but I have seen similar threads in this forum that do have that kind of information. Try a search. Or plug in Google "sound module" or something.
If you have some specific reason for using your PC, you should let us·know.
For the transmission, why not mount the Stamp with a sound playback module directly on the application?

Wirelessly transmit them to what?· What is on the receiving end of the transmission?

    Hi
I have in mind transmission of short sound files to a listener with a radio some
short distance away. A Pbasic program and/or keyboard input, in conjuction with
sensors from BS2 would select these short sound files from a large library.
The sound modules seem possible, though the cost would be a concern since
I probably need a large number. But I will definitely look into them.
Thank you both for the quick response.

Well there are plenty of wireless FM transmitter kits designed to send an anolog audio signal to a nearby radio.· Once you have that, and the sound module, it's a simple matter of writing the program to detect whatever sensor/keyboard and activate the sound module.· Now, for choices on sound modules...Here are few choices that are BASIC Stamp compatible...You may have to do a little diggin to find something with your storage requirements.
