"(BS2P24) is the highest performing of all the BASIC Stamp microcontrollers."

Above comment is taken from Parallax website.

I think this is no longer true.· There are 2pe and 2px that appear to me to be higher performing Stamps.

2px is the fastest module you can buy from Parallax.

I will send a note to our web team. In the future, please include a link to a page that has inaccurate information so that we don't have to hunt for it (our web site has nearly 2000 pages) and do include an appropriate subject line when you start a new thread.

    Gents -

Since I just had occasion to look at the instruction speeds of each of the various Stamps in tabular form, I thought I'd just pass it along, as it seemed appropriate to this thread:

    ····· Parallax·················Approximate
    ····· Stamp···················Instructions
    ······ Model····················Per Second
    ····
    Basic Stamp BS-1············ 2,000

    Basic Stamp BS-2············ 4,000

    Basic Stamp BS-2e·········· 4,000

    Basic Stamp BS-2sx········ 10,000

    Basic Stamp BS-2p24······ 12,000

    Basic Stamp BS-2p40······ 12,000

    Basic Stamp BS-2pe········· 6,000

    Basic Stamp BS-2px········ 19,000

    Java Stamp····················· 8,500

    Regards,

    Hello,

·· Our Web Development Team has been notified of the error.· I located the page.· Thanks.· BTW, as Bruce's list points out, the BS2pe is in fact slower than the BS2p.

Of course, "highest performing" depends on what criterion is highest on your list. If it is raw speed or the greatest number of PBASIC instructions, then the 'px is the one. But if it is low power consumption, then it would be the 'pe or the original BS2, or even the minimalist BS1.
