Sumo Bot Ring materials

Can anyone give me some ideas for the materials I should use to construct a Sumo bot ring. It seems like there must be a standard paint, laminate or linoleumn (spelling?)·that is used for a regulation ring.

Just found a another good source for SumoBots and Sumo Rings in my library.
It is the book titled " Robot Sumos, the Official Guide" by Pete Miles

The manual suggest a certain type of linoleumn. Is it available at any flooring store? An Internet search goes no where.
