I have a USB BOEBot with a Javelin Stamjp installed. I am using the latest Javelin IDE on Windows XP and tryiing to download the HelloWorld program using the supplied USB cable. I get an error message saying the IDE can't find the Javelin Stamp. Any suggestions?

·· Check to make sure your batteries are fresh.· The Javelin uses more current than a BASIC Stamp, and if it's not getting it, it won't respond.

·· Is this a Desktop or Laptop computer?· Now that I know it's a USB BOE, try this...Go into your Control Panel and double-click the System Icon.· This should open your System Properties.· Go to the Hardware tab and select Device Manager.· Go down in the device list to Ports.· Click the + next to it to open it up.· Double-Click the entry for the USB Serial Port.· This should open the USB Serial Port Properties.· Click the Port Properties tab and select Advanced.· Under BM Options, change the Latency from 16 to 1.· Click Ok.· Click Ok again on the Port Properties window then close the device manager.· Try the programming again.· Oh, BTW, have you tried this with something other than a Javelin, for example, does the BS2 work on the system?

·· You didn't mention if you have tried a BASIC Stamp on the BOE-Bot to see if it communicates or not.· Is the Javelin all you have?·

Next, I plugged in a fresh 9 volt battery. The BASIC IDE found the stamp. Put back in the Javelin and the Javelin IDE could not find the Javelin. Is the 9 volt too weak current wise for this to work? At any rate I need to tear apart the BOEBot and figure out what is wrong with the battery pack. This is a brand new kit just received from Parallax a few days ago.
At any rate, this is fun trying to get this going.
If there's a problem with power supply then it lies with the battery pack. We've recently had a QA/QC with these and we're fixing it right now. Check the power supply at the solder tabs on the battery pack.
I'll get a new one out to you ASAP.

The power supply battery pack solder tabs are the culprit. Please send me a new one and THANKS!
