SX to USB ThumbDrive

Has anyone thought about using a USB ThumbDrive for SX storage ???
Would be cool for writing large amounts of log files or collecting data !

That requires the SX acting as a USB master, something noone on the forums has accomplished (to my knowledge).
However people have been successful directly interfacing with SD/MMC format flashcards (though most report that it is a pain to do).
