Programming a Basic Stamp on a DOS machine

A friend has challenged me to program one of the Basic Stamps using an old PC that has only DOS for an operating system. Years ago I gained some experience programming 8051's, but I have never worked with the Basic Stamp. Can anyone advise me on what I need in the way of software and hard ware and where I can get it? I tried eBAY but had no luck.

Bear in mind that these old DOS versions of the software will not support BASIC Stamp Modules designed after these programs were written.· For example, you won't be able to program a BS2px24 with the DOS version.

What about a plain old BS2, or is there such a thing?

    Hello,

·· Yes, the original BS1 and BS2 should program using the appropriate files from the link provided.
