help please

I am trying to build a robot that can detect red, blue, yellow and green colored cans and at the same time I want to build a manipulator system that should carry or move the cans. Any ideas on what kind of sensors should be used and how to construct the manipulator system will be appreciated. Thanks

You can use the TCS230 Kit from Parallax for color detection.· The TCS230 must be within one inch of the color you are try to detect.
