Those of you who do not know what "Fry's" is...
www.outpost.com/
Nothing to exciting on this trip, I was actually looking for a new digital camera (no luck there),
and a cheap laser pointer ($7.99) for a new project at the house I wanted to work on over the
long weekend.
Anyway on several occasions I have passed by the "TAMIYA" kit products. This time I got
one just for the heck of it .... "Worm Gear Box F.E. (High Efficiency)" $9.99 at Fry's
www.tamiyausa.com/product/category.php?sub-id=40000
After taking me all of 5 minutes to assemble, I was very surprised at how quiet it ran even with
a moderate finger loading on the shaft. ...and lots of torque I might add!!
By connecting a Potentiometer to the shaft and "harvesting" the control electronics in an
old/"stripped out" servo, the modification mentioned in the link below would be a perfect application.
