has anyone iterfaced one of these with a BS2?

    There have been a few threads on this, but I can't seem to locate the last one.· I believe it was decided that an SX would be required to do the actual read.· In the meantime here's a thread from the Yahoo Groups on this subject.

    There is a way to do it with a BS2, or even a BS1. They make "decoded MagStripe" readers. Basically, it's the mag stripe reader, yet it has a MCU in it, and it sends out the data from the magstripe in a serial ascii data format to the BS1, or BS2, etc. I think it uses standard RS-232 interface levels, so you'd have to have a level shifter, but it can be done with this and a level shifter such as the max232, or you can make it yourself with a couple components (not recommended, it's easier to get a max232).

    ·· That is correct.· On the BS1 the baud rate is limited to 2400 baud though.
