building my own Basic Stamp 2Pe

Hi,

I need to build my own basic stamp buying the BASIC Stamp 2pe Interpreter Chip (SS).

I would like to use only one SS component ( the interprter chip stamp-pe)
and I prefer to use the other components like EEPROM, resonator, resistors, transistors and condenser,
in DIP format becuase it is very difficult for me to weld SS components.

Is that possible?

Thanks, Joe confused.gifconfused.gif

    Joe -

The form or format of the components is reasonably insignificant. Making sure you're using the same VALUE or SIZE of the required components is far more important.

Sure, if you can find them. The critical component is the EEPROM, as you need exactly the timing and exactly the memory space that the original unit used. I assume those are made in through-hole form still.

Resistors, transistors, capacitors, and regulators are of course still made in through-hole form.

    Joe,

·· You can find both through-hole, and SS versions of our parts from the following web page.· The parts are for the same interpreter, regardless of package size, and therefore should be fully compatible.
