8 by 8 2 color display

Can I use the maxim 7219 (probably 2 of them) to drive a two color 8 by 8 display?· It seems to have 8 common cathode lines and 16 separate anode lines.· I can't see an obvious way to do this with 2 7219s.

If the 7219 won't work, is there something like the 7219 (in other words, similar pbasic commands) that will?
