About how long would it take the stamp to serout this information, Call 18004459889 at 4:35 p.m." to another device ?

    At 9600 baud, it's about a millisecond per character.

    Yes, you must know the baud rate. To determine timing, divide the baud into one, then multiply that by 10 for each character (start bit, eight data bits, one stop bit). To follow Allan's lead at 9600 buad:

    1/9600 = 104 uS --> 1.04 ms per character x 29 characters = ~29 ms (0.029 seconds).
