Are there differences between BOE-BOT sold by Radio Shack for $150 and BOE-BOT sold by Parallax and other stores for $200?

    And you get a freebie sensor from Parallax. So depending on the value of your freebie choice it comes out about the same.

    Nope, no difference at all. Radio Shack buys in bulk, then passes some of the savings on to you. Parallax is making new ones all the time -- from time to time, they have a clearance sale which is slightly better than RS.

    I'm afraid that Radio Shack's BOE-BOT may have the Home Work Board instead of the BOE. I downloaded the "Robotics with the BOE-BOT V2.2" PDF file and it has circuit building instructions for both boards.

    No, the RadioShack Boe-Bot Full Kit includes the Board of Education. The book features both boards (HomeWork Board and the Board of Education) in case somebody who first bought a HomeWork Board wants to turn it into a Bot by purchasing only the Robotics Parts and Text Kit.

    No need to be skeptical. The RadioShack Boe-Bot is the same as ours.

    They do sell the "What's a Microcontroller" Kit which includes the HomeWork Board, but their Boe-Bot Full Kit includes the Board of Education.

    I can vouch for that. I have purchased a total of 3 Boe-Bot Kits in the last year from our local RadioShacks.

    They are the real deal.

    I got the package from Radio Shack's online store and the kit has the BOE, not Home Work Board.
