I think I know the brute you desire. Check out this technique of 'gearing up' an already fantastic servo to 5x it's origional torque!
    http://www.robotzone.com/customer/product.php?productid=186&cat=51&page=1
Here is a quote from that page:
'With a 5:1 ratio, the 805 Servo Power Gearbox can lift up to 30 pounds using a 4" arm.'

There is also a 'standard' one not using the Hitec HS-805BB and HS-815BB servos at:

Here is a quote from that page:
'With a 5:1 ratio and a HS-645MG servo, the Standard Servo Power Gearbox can lift up to 10 pounds using a 4" arm.'

fwit: http://www.robotzone.com seems to be the only place I have seen this type of thing, but somebody smart with gears could have done something simular. It's just nice to see it all packaged and pretty like that. :-)

hmm. I just re-read your post and you want something that can move 30 to 90 kilograms per centimeter.
The above top servo - once converted to metric on it's highest ratio is 19.1415087 kilograms per centimeter.
I think you are headed to linear actuator land. smile.gif

Is there a difference between controlling a futaba servo and one such as the HS-815BB? And is there a diference between normal and digital servos?

    hey,

to answer your last Q, digital servos are usaly stronger, quicker, more accurate, and more expensive. the only difference is that digital servos "refresh" their postion something like 5-6x more than standar servos. but senting signals should be the same!
