SX52 Protoboard and NO money for headers!

Before you laugh, I am poor...LOL (ok, I laughed)

Seriously, rising gas prices and two mortgages have left me in a situation where I literally can't justify spending a few bucks on headers.

ANYWAY, I have the SX52 protoboard and I want to connect it to my breadboard. What should I do? Save my pennies until I can get some headers or bite the bullet and solder some long wires in? I don't really like that idea.

Suggestions?

Thanks

    cbmeeks:

It's water under the bridge at this point since you already placed the order, but the bottom of the SX Proto Board ordering pages include links to headers:

    http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=451-00303

They're 0.45 cents each for a 3-pin header. I'll see to it that we add a 12-pin header to the page as well, both M/F types so you can plug a breadboard onto the proto area.

What about your local RadioShack? They've got to have some kind of 0.1" spaced header?

Soldering wires isn't a bad idea, but not my first choice.

Yeah, I definately need female headers. I can probably come up with a little cash...I was just wondering what other people have done.

In fact, I have a small breadboard I am thinking about dedicating to this protoboard.

I posted some photos a few weeks back of my SX-52 Proto Board with a full set of mostly female headers. [Male headers for the servos and few other functions].

While it is not anything to get crazy over, it is a good reference for people with no idea of what to do.

I was getting kinda crazy over those little plastic boxes you have, George. Walking around the plastics capital of the world opens up a few storage opportunities. I'm a fan of plastic boxes, too.
