About PCB of Embedded Blue 500 (EB500)
Dear all,
I am using an embedded Blue 500a to develop simple project.
Unluckily, base on my careless I supply a wrong voltage and damage the embedded blue.
There are two IC on the broad damage and I wanna to try to fix it.
One of them call AAHV (above the ic, this one I found already it is an ic from Maxim)
but for other printed above the IC call "CC861"), I just know it is from Texas Instrucments but I don't know which one it belongs to.
Would someone tell me which IC of this CC861 is?
100000 * Thanks

My suggestion is to send it back to Parallax for a repair. I "Googled" the part number and couldn't find it either, except as an obscure part from surplus suppliers. Call us for an RMA number 888-512-1024. Ask for Jim Carey (that's his real name) and tell him you blew it up. We must have an agreement with Embedded Blue to replace these at a fair cost to the customer.
By the time you find the parts, do the SMT work with whatever tools you have, pay the shipping costs, etc. it is much cheaper and quicker to have the factory diagnose and repair the failure.

Thx for sugestion. I will make a call to him. I understand they will have an agreement with replace such parts. I will make the call to Jim Carey to talk about the problem.
But as my situation, since I am an international buyer form Hong Kong. To my main concern is it take a long time and high cost to post the embedded blue to US and repair it.
So, I think it can be done if I find both IC and repair it.(more save time as the maxims' factory in china and fast shipping and the Texas Instrucments' IC I think is not a special made ic. )
Anyway, I really thanks for your suggestion. Let me make the call to talk about jim then make the desiciosn.(since this is the research project I help the school to do, if I damage the device I need to pay for all repairing cost. So, I want to find the cheapest way to fix it and save money.)
Thanks.

If you're in Hong Kong it is probably even easier than you think IF you bought it from a distributor. Assuming you bought it from Mac Ma, Parallax Hong Kong / Mind Research, give him a ring and he can take care of the rest of the replacement for you.

IF you didn't purchase from Mind Research, then your best bet is to order a new one.
