SX Video Module - neat!

I had bought one of Bean's new SX Video Modules (<http://www.sxvm.com> directly from him just before they hit the Parallax Storefront <http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=30012>.
In fact what I bought was the PCB only as I had all the other parts. Anyway its about 10 minutes work to assemble (would be very easy to do sans the PCB, building it onto another project!)
Bean very kindly reworked his code to compile clean under the SX/B v1.41 and I fired it up this afternoon and it works like a charm. Its hard to believe that one lousy 50 MHz SX28 and six resistors would make an composite video display device with audio (albeit limited tone generation) and 8 bits of i/o to boot!
While I would be inclined to wire the whole thing from scratch myself for many applications. (The source code is Open Sourced) The PCB is nicely done, compact, with good quality.
The only problem I had was Bean's demo "Pong" game. I ran it on a BS2SX and it was too bloody fast to play and I didn't have time to hunt down the timing constants!
cheers ... brian riley, n1bq, underhill center, vermont

It is amazing how fast 4800 baud is compared to a human. I guess you'll just have to get better at "pong" ;)

When are you going to release the version with video overlay?
Thanks, PeterM
It is still·a work in progress. I have the overlay working, but I'm trying to make it function with or without a video input.
IOW: Video in-> Overlay module; No Video in -> Display module
I'd say in about a month.
P.S. Be sure to take my poll about what display format I should have.
