If only every company had Parallax's level of customer service

I have been eagerly awaiting the delivery of my samples of Ramtron FRAM, I tracked the package (FedEx, 2nd day delivery) until it came into the local office. That was 3 days ago, and I never received a delivery notice (actually there was one, which I thought it was but it turned out to be my roomates laptop). I finally checked the tracking again and here is what it said:

So they recieved the package a day early, but because it wasnt an overnight package, they sat on it for a day. Then after they tried to deliver it to an incorrect address (my guess is Ramtron forgot to include my apartment number), they kept sending it out for delivery to the same incorrect address! As if my address would magically change to the correct address overnight! WTH? Its antics like this that made me·stop using UPS whenever possible (3 times a delivery driver drove around with my 2nd day package without making a delivery attempt, that plus the 24 hour waiting period they required to switch from a delivery to a pick up). Grrrr. This just makes me all the more appreciative of the lengths Parallax will goto to please its customers.·

I don't care for UPS or FedEx, I much prefer USPS (believe it or not).

Around here (Hartford, VT), the UPS guys will jump through hoops to make sure you get your package.· I had one a few weeks ago that tried to deliver at my apartment when I wasn't home... instead of leaving the package (I guess they won't leave them at apartments or somesuch, customer service told me), they took it to the gas station just down the street and left it for me there!· Saved me an extra day of waiting for my DSL.

UPS did that for me too one time when there was too much snow to get back to my house.

I've had my UPS driver jump through hoops for me, and pretty much anyone in my city. I guess it's just on a per city basis.

I had a 3 day delivery, delivered on the second day.

I've never had a package late. I've had a package early at least 50% of the time. I've paid for 2 day delivery, and recieved it the next day. And that was from almost across country. It just depends on where their hubs are, etc. I've had ground packages delivered the next day!

One time I placed a order for something at like midnight, the company got the package to UPS the same day (Jameco, and it was a HUGE order), next day I got the package, and it was a ground package, I'm in NM, and Jameco is in CA. And the delivery driver left the package on my porch, the order was $400. He did hide it behind my fountain. :) I've had to kinda play hide and seek with my packages, but my driver knows that I track my packages, so he hide them wherever he can, knowing that I'll find it. :)

I've had him leave it in my car at one point. But I think my neighbor told him to. lmao.

Your right it depends on the city. I've tracked ground packages that have been at the hub(10 miles away) for 2 days. Really pissed my off, cause I know if I tried to pick it up there it would be a big hassle. I tracked packages that say "out for delivery" then go back to the hub till the next day.
Like I said I like USPS Priority mail the best.

I concur that USPS has more reliability on a nationwide scale than any of the private carriers that I have used.

For instance where I live now I cannot pickup a package from UPS the same day it was on a truck (FedEx allows this). When I lived in the District proper last year, I could pick up a package the same day from UPS from 6 - 7:30 pm by traveling 15 miles outside of DC to Landover MD. FedEx I could pick up the same day a few miles away, but had to wait 45 minutes to an hour because the staff behind the counter just didn't care and would stand there acting busy for a few minutes between each customer or just chatting with the other employee, the package guys also had the slower than molassas additude.

The Alexandria FedEx staff is typically fast and curteous, though when I went to pick up the package above I inquired about the insanity of repeatedly trying to deliver a package to the wrong address, he just ignored me. When he came back with the package and compared my ID with it, he astutely said "There's your problem, theres no apartment number on the package", no duh sherlock, I hear Scotland Yard is looking for detectives.
