Help File Freezes !

every time i open my help file the help file 100% freezes cannot do a thing with the help file.

when i hit the small "x" to close it states "Programm not responding"

What is Going on...

I have a High quality Gaming Computer and i am pretty sure that it can handle a little help file.

Computer specs.
AMD XP 3200 (2.2Ghz)
Windows XP Pro
1 GB DDR2 (memory)
120 SATA HDD

I just dont know whats going on

I even tried installing the latest version to Pbasic v2.2 and still i get a freeze.

Help Please....

    Are you shure your PC isn't full of programs that make it slower, or any spyware?
    Have you checked the windows update page?

    Does it lock up opening any help file or just the pbasic one?

    If it opens other help files then go to Parallax and download a new help file and try to open that one.
    If that woks then replace you existing help file with that one.

    This is known bug of the HELP system of Basic Stamp Editor that usualy occurs when you press the "PageDn" or "PageUp" keys...
    If you scroll down with the cursor keys it would be allright...

    It happens on every PC I tried so its not hardware related... It·think that parallax have a fix for this on the software downloads.

    Really? That's not known to me and I am responsible for the creation of our help files. I just opened the help file and used PgUp and PgDn without any problems, both in the contents pane, and in a topic section.

    Whatever problem you're having is not hardware related, but it is not related to the file itself which is constructed using the Microsoft Help Compiler -- I'm guessing the problem has to do with the version of Internet Explorer and related components you have installed on your machine.

    Oups, you are right John. Just checked with latest version 2.2 and looks ok...

    The freeze occured to me in an older version 2.1 beta version I had...

    I will have to try that when i get home...

    Jon, I dont even get the option of using the PgUp PgDn keys.. when its opened its frozen !

    i just dont understand. i have pbasic installed at my work computer and i have never had a problem with it.

    i never knew you could open the help file without pbasic running so i will give that a try.

    Make sure that your home system has the latest version of IE installed.
