Got my SX52 protoboard....need headers

Got my board today and I am aching to fire it up!

Anyway, I am here at work so I can't test this but I imagine that I can't plug my test wires into those holes and get a good connection.

That means I will need some type of header. Any good place to get these? Also, my soldering skills need to be improved so how hard would it be to install them?

Thanks!

You are correct that you'll need a header. They are availible through any major distributor, and most of the surplus stores as well. Allelectronics has a 40 pin breakaway header for $0.50. Soldering them is pretty simple. The first time I soldered was installing headers on the MC68HC11 development board and I had no difficulty doing it. The only issue is you shouldn't leave the iron on the joint for too long because the header plastic will start to melt and the pin may shift, but even in this circumstance you almost always end up with a useable header post.

Anyone know where I can get headers (if that is what they are called) that will allow me to easily interface with my breadboard? Like the ones around the SX52 on the XGS?

    Thanks...

Yeah, those are the female version of the headers (they're called header sockets), Here is one offered by allelectronics. (BTW the sockets are more forgiving to novice solderers than the headers are)
