Hello,
I just ordered a kit from Mundotronics and will experiment with muscle wires. Has anyone done anything with this?
Thanks,
Curtis

I have used Nitinol wires. Interesting but somewhat limited. For some applications it gives amazing results though. My favourite are those animated butterflies, like thes ones in: http://store.yahoo.com/e-clec-tech/noambu1.html.

I also have used Nitinol that came with the 'stiquito' kit- (not sure if they still make those kits?)- You don't get a whole lot of motion, but for the relative size it is pretty neat. (You can also do some interesting stuff with clever mechanical schemes and the muscle wire...)-

    Have fun!

The Stiquito book discusses (on page 154) the "Stiquito '97" using an on-board BS2 for control. I have never seen seen one built or working. The biggest challange (imho), is making the tension equal on all linkages.

Yes, it was a pain to get the pins in with the tension the same....
