Need older IDE for older Javelin chip

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and the Javelin chip. I bought a Javelin starter kit off of Ebay from
Parallax and I guess you get what you pay for. The chip is an older version and I can't
get the newer IDE's to work with it. The 2.x and 3.x IDE can see the chip, but get an
error message "Error IDE-0052 Incompatible firmware revision [noparse][[/noparse]$33]. The book that
came with the kit states to load version 1.x of the IDE, which did not come on the cd
that shipped with the kit. I am looking for a 1.x version of the IDE that will work with
this chip. If anyone has a link to this or could send it to me, I would appreciate it.

As far as I know, there is only one revision,

and that is $50. So it should be identified by

the latest IDE program.

Javalin

The "Incompatible firmware revision" can be caused by a lack of power, or related issues.

Try running the Javalin on its own (nothing connected), with a known good power source and see if that cures the issue!

The Javelin module is the only thing plugged into the Javelin demo board. I am using the
power supply (7.5v) ordered from Parallax. I will try a battery pack with fresh batteries, in
case the power supply is defective.
