Help file clarification.

· While looking through N&V article number 81, A Tale of Two Stamps, the schematic for connecting the stamps shows two 470KOhm resistors·connecting the two flow control pins between the stamps.· In looking at the Examples section under the help file entry for SEROUT, which has this same application, it does not show these two resistors.
· My question is, is this an omission in the help file or are they not supposed to be there.· I am assuming that they should be there for current limiting.

Thanks,
Kevin

I tend to be a little conservative in my articles. The help file is not in error, I just presented a very cautious circuit in my column·to prevent accidents. I always like to·have some resistance when connecting I/O pins together -- if I don't and one pin goes high while the other goes low .... poof! (broken pin)

    Jon,
    · Thanks for your quick response.· I will go on the conservative side as·I don't like the word "poof".· smilewinkgrin.gif

    Thank you,

Good plan. Resistors are really cheap ... BASIC Stamps are not.
