noob: SX to SX communication

I am *assuming* that in order for two (or more) SX's to communicate back and forth, each SX would need at least 2 pins devoted for input/output.

Basically, what I am trying to understand and do on my homebrew computer is to have a 6502 as the core CPU and have SX28's running just about all of the subsystems like video, sound, etc.

So, for the CPU to communicate with the SX28 running video, would two pins be all I need? Would the speed be fast enough?

Thanks

Depending on your needs, you may be able to use just one pin.· A new product we created for our EFX line, for example, uses Open True baudmode and (an inline resistor to prevent an accident) to allow bi-directional communications on just one pin.· You can see the project and BASIC Stamp demo code here:

I'm using a BASIC Stamp in the example, but another SX could be used as well.
