I wonder if this could be converted for use with Stamps and SX chips?

Color television is notoriously difficult to render, the problem arises from the superimposed color information. The XGS gamestation uses a dedicated chip to generate the color signals. Rickard Gunee created a color tetris program without using a dedicated chip for the SX here, it has limitations such as how quickly you can change the color value. Additionally converting your digital signal to analog S-video which is then reconverted back to digital results in loss of quality of your picture. If you want a color LCD screen to interface an SX with, I would suggest getting a directly driven LCD screen like this one. I have purchased one myself and have plans on creating an SX based controller (don't ask when it will be completed, it is one of 4 rotating projects and is dependent on another project's completion.

You can use any color monitor (with video input) connected to a Stamp if you use the ezVID video module www.multilabs.net/Products.html

Parallax stocks the ezVID video module

PLJack, thanks for the link.· That is a pretty low price for a color video LCD module.

I just ordered me up one to try out with the ezVID.· I've looked at the ezVID connected to another video LCD screen.· Can't wait to see what it looks like with this one smile.gif

I'm thinking of making a video board that connects to a VGA monitor instead of a TV (NTSC) monitor.
It would be pretty much text and low-res graphics with 8 colors. But it would be cheap (< $40).

Another option is to allow the SX-video module to do video "overlay" on top of an input video signal.
It would be black and white, but again "on-the-cheap" (<$35).

Any interest in either of these ?
    Bean.
