wireless coaxial cable?

does anyone know if it is possible to make coaxial cables wireless and if so how would i accomplish this task?

    Exactly what are you asking?· Coax is for the transmission of RF - the center conductor is covered with a shield so it can not radiate.

    well i have cable tv and want to get rid off the coaxial cable the runs behind the tv. Is there anything that i could build or buy in stores or online to do this? Is even possible?

    Not really, you could probably make the link between the cable box and the television wireless, but between the box and the wall is carrying 100's of channels of information, this is such a wideband signal you couldn't possibly hope to encode all that data onto a single wireless link.

    how would i go about making the link between the cable box and the television wireless? Is it faily simple?

    Well since you only need to carry channel 3, you could get a wireless television transmitter/receiver there are hundreds of models to choose from, of varying quality and price, one issue is that they are designed for cameras that output S-Video (the RCA plug) so you would need to convert the channel 3 info into S-Video, but this is possible using something as simple as a VCR.
