Javelin not bidirectional

Hello,

I just switched over to Javelin programming. I installed the IDE from the CD and executed the HelloWorld example provided in the projects examples. I do not receive any terminal messages.

When I tried to set a breakpoint and run the debugger, I got the following message:

(Error IDE-0016) Unable to do line number translation for pc = 0.

When I double-click the error message (in the error window), I receive the following:

[Error] Unable to do line number translation for pc = %d.
[Description] The translation from the program counter to a line number could not be performed.
[Solution] The .jem file on the device is probably not current with the one in memory. Try downloading again.

Any ideas on what will solve this?

Environment = Win2000, no service packs, Pentium II

Thanks.

    Hello,

·· What happens if you re-download (re-program) the code?

When I try this on the BoeBot, 6V. When I attempt on the BASIC Stamp2 carrier board, 9V.

    Okay,

    · If in both cases you're using batteries, you really should try another set, or if you have it a Wall supply, since weak batteries could cause this.· If that doesn't work please contact us for an RMA.

    Chris,

Tried a fresh Duracell, out of the box - same results.

RMA? For the Javelin or CD? Is the error code IDE-0016 documented internally?

Have you tried the latest IDE software from Parallax site?

The CD version may not be the latest version.

    regards peter

    Hello,

·· Peter sorta beat me to it, but I was going to ask what version of the IDE you have an suggest a possible upgrade to the latest version.· But contact us if this doesn't work.

    Peter/Chris,

    Thanks for the suggestion.

    Here's what I just did:

    1) Uninstalled the Javelin IDE that came with the CD.
    2) Downloaded and installed Javelin Stamp IDE Installer - Version 2.0.3.
    3) Fired-up the IDE and opened \Projects\examples\manual_v1_0\HelloWorld.java.
    4) Compiled and Programmed to Javelin.
    5) Execution did not show the System.out.println() method's output in the terminal window.
    6) Set a breakpoint on System.out.println("Hello World"); and attempted debugging.

    Same error.
