Problem using USB/RS232 adapter with BS Editor

·· My new laptop tongue.gif·(Xp Home)·uses an RS232 Serial to USB adapter.· Although the adapter works with a preprogrammed BS2e· to monitor data streaming from the stamp to Hyper-terminal, I cannot·communicate·sad.gif to the stamp via the·windows BS editor (v2.1).·· I have tried· disabling the FIFO·and·changing other properties on the port (COM5) with no luck.

Has anyone sucessfully used a USB/RS232 adapter with the editor program?· ··

Yes, but not just any USB to serial adapter will work. That's why we carry the FTDI adapter: it allows ALL of the signals required to reprogram a BASIC Stamp to pass through. There are other adapters that some customers have had success with, but I'll leave it to those users to share their results as I don't have experience with adapters other than that made by FTDI.
