Dear friends,
Here is another interesting customer application, featured May 12th on Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer.· A clip is available on the web at the link below.
The rat's backpack is comprised of·a video camera and 2.4 GHz transmitter by Aliveal, a·BASIC Stamp 1 by Parallax, a Panasonic Li-ion battery (Progressive Technologies), and an 433 MHz RX2 receiver by Radiometrix (American rep Lemos).· Data communication from the base station is with the Radiometrix TX2 transmitter driven by a LabView program, and the video link is to an AV receiver by Aliveal.

And, it uses only a BasicStamp1 as its microprocessor! Why do we always think more is needed?
Of course, the drawback is escapee rats. If you have a few hundred of these at an airport, sooner or later one or two will get out. Just make sure that they are all sterile or you will be getting a population explosion.
Years and years ago, someone said that if you want to catch a mouse, make a noise like cheese. There is your next generation project - a BasicStamp based Pied Piper.
