Thanks Ken, just another confirmation that deciding on the SX development platform was a wise idea (thanks to Parallax's unparalleled support). I nearly got into the SX a year earlier, but I was seeking to bundle the SX-Key with a SX52 con carne (you guys said it wasn't possible outside of purchasing each individually). Money was tighter back then, so that hiccup delayed my taking the plunge by a year (while I cast about looking for an alternative only to conclude the SX was still the best choice).

Paul,

Gerber files for the SX52 Con Carne board are attached. Do whatever you want with these files [except call us and ask for help viewing them]. You're on your own.

Not an issue, downloading ViewMate as I speak. Thanks again.

Greetings SXers,

I received a few inquiries about the SX48/52 Proto Boards in the past day. Well, guess what? They're here!

I can't let you buy them until Friday, because we're currently closed for inventory count. Nothing is moving in the warehouses except people with clipboards.

In fact, to get these out of our receiving department I had to cross paths with·a box in my arms in front of the Purchasing Manager and the Inventory / Warehouse Manager. When I left the dock the Purchasing Manager was doing aerial rounds with a wood golf club·and saying "now, Ken, you are going to be bringing those back here soon, right?". My goal is to get them to John Barrowman for some test procedures so we can put them in inventory.

Therefore, I expect we'll announce availability and on-line ordering on Friday. After that, we'll need to get a grip on your consumption so we can be sure to·have adequate stock in the future. We're starting with 500 of each type.

That's the honest update.

Thanks for the update Ken, are all versions in (SX28 as well) or just the SX48/52?

Paul,

The SX28AC/SS Proto Board has not gone to production yet. It is at least 90 days out at this point. It was forced to take a back seat for a while in consideration of other products in the pipeline.

Hey Ken,
Nice Pick-N-Place machine in the background there... Looks almost exactly like the one at work. Must be nice to have toys like that ;)

Looks good Ken, but I'm not sure 500 will be enough. I plan on paying for at least a couple for myself, as I have 3 or 4 things in mind for the boards, and that proto area is going to fill up fast wink.gif

The PnP machine would sure be nice for our lab here. Hand soldering LQFPs, 0402s, and SOT23-5s is getting old. I'm more interested in th emini oven off to the left tho. There's one part that's a BGA that I have no idea how I'm going to hand-solder. The batch oven died just after I started here and they haven't replaced it yet. Hopefully a SX28 and a toaster oven will be fixing that soon...

Incidentlaly, the Ping))) is working very nicely with my new BS2, and doing a red/green light indicator for my parking jobs in the garage. No more smashed trash cans!. Thanks again.
