Duane,

·· What seems to be the problem with it?· Have you connected it according to the docs?· Tried the example code?· What are you getting?

I have one of these, and just for testing (when it first got here) I tried the examples, and they worked just fine.

How do they compare to the older Ultrasound?

Other than less wires, do they really have a narrower beam and more accurate focus?

Is the range superior?

I have a robot that is using IR for obstacle sensing, but the IR can only see white or near white.
Obviously, I either have to add ultrasound or replace the IR completely with ultrasound.

I am not sure that one sensor is enough.

Ah, Could we get a link to those PDF documents put into the forum?

As it is, I have to open another web page, go to Parallax and then look around.
It seems a bit round about.

Also, you seem to have removed any support documents [other than Nuts & Volts articles] for the Daventec Sensor.· So how can I actually compare?

Hello,

· Yes, a little work would actually be required to compare the products.· You would need to go to the product pages for the products you wish to compare, and download the relevant information from those pages.· As the Devantech is a discontinued product, you would need to go to their site to get that information.
