I have just loaded SX-Key v3.10 it appears to work fine, but when I click on the simulator button the program seems to start but nothing happens. If I do (Ctrl Alt Del) it say’s that the simulator is running. There is no output to the screen, when I click End Task I get this message

Run-time error ‘97’:

Can not call friend function or object which is not an instance of defining class

I am using Windows ME

Not sure if this is an SXSim issue, an IDE issue, or both. Can you go to the directory with the version of SXSim that the new installer put on the machine and run it from there? I'm curious to know what happens when you start it manually.
      Thanks, PeterM

    Mike,

I tried to reproduce the problem here - with no luck. Please try to run SXSim directly as Peter had suggested.

What version of Windows are you using?

    OK
Here is what I did, I manually opened SX Sim then I opened SX Key and loaded the current program I am working on. Then I clicked on th Sim button an got a message that said "Input program has changed would you like to reset the break points." I selected "YES" and SX Sim loaded! Everything seems to be working fine now.

    Go Figure

    Mike,

when you launch SXSim directly, it is normal that it does not open a list file. You can then click the button "Load File" to select the list file to be loaded, or click the "Load Last" button to open the most recently loaded file (if there was any - otherwise this button will be disabled).

Good to hear that you can now launch SXSim from the SX-Key IDE. Nevertheless, it should also have worked for the first time without the error message you've got. I have Windows ME on one machine here, so I'll check SX-Key and SXSim on this one to see what happens.

    Terry,

you mentioned that you had the same problem on a Win 95 machine - can you reproduce that error message?
