I am using a SX28 and the experimeter board and I am about to move a project to a self designed printed circut board. Do I need to do any thing with unused pins, like take them to ground or make them high. also do I have to do any thing with th RTCC pin wich I have not learned how to work with it.

Thank You;

Mike W

    You can leave them unattached if your program configures the pins as output. Or if you want to be sure you can strap them to either Vdd or Gnd through a smallish resistor (~220&#937;), using the resistors, configure the pins as input to minimize current consumption. The RTCC can be left floating as well, but again if you want to ensure minimal current, connect it via resistor to one of the power rails.

    I usually leave unused pins disconnected and use the internal pull-ups.
    Don't forget to strap /MCLR high too (usually through a 10K resistor).
