Is it possible to use some of the other basic stamps with the boe board? Or must I use a different prog board with each? Thanks a mill _Duane

    Duane-

    All of the 24 pin Basic Stamps (<!--StartFragment --> BASIC Stamp-2 module ,·<!--StartFragment -->-2e,·<!--StartFragment -->-2sx, <!--StartFragment -->-2p, <!--StartFragment -->-2pe and<!--StartFragment --> -2px··) will work in all of the BOE boards (<!--StartFragment --> Board of Education USB programming board (Rev. A),·<!--StartFragment --> Board of Education carrier board - Serial (Rev. A, B and C) and the·<!--StartFragment --> NX-1000 Board).· The BOE boards also work with several competitor's Basic Stamp look-alike products (such as·NetMedia's<!--StartFragment --> BasicX-24).

    The Basic Atom 28 is also pin compatible with the BS2. Ok I am confused on how a 28 pin module could be considered pin compatible with a 24 pin module, but Im just restating what is said on thier page.

    Because it isn't. The Basic Atom-24 is pin-compatible. But that's off-topic.

    Basically, any BS2 24 pin module can be used in the same BOE board, or the NX1000 board. And the Javelin module is also a 24-pin module, and would fit and work as well (though you'll probably need another RS232 port -- the default DB-9 is used by the Javelin for a debug and single-step port).

    Keep in mind that employees of Parallax do not have time (nor the inclination) to test non-Parallax controllers in our boards. If you're worried, find a friend who already has one of our boards and do a test -- we don't want to get caught in a finger-pointing contest with another vendor. We do our best to support our products, and are even asked (more than you can imagine) to support the other guys, but as you can imagine, we don't have the expertise to keep up with any product features except those that we produce.

    Thank you. We really do our best to help our customers -- and customers of other vendors when we can.
