Hi All....
Here is my next silly question...Does anybody remember a rather obscure Intel microprocessor called the 8089 I/O co-processor?· It was a rather un-used device, long out of production...Computer designers tended to use memory mapped I/O rather than a dedicated co-processor.· DOes any body know where to find old and no-longer made chips?· How about documentation?
Any information or stories about using this device would me interesting to me.
All the best,
Joe

Aside from pictures, this is all I could find after 30 minutes of browsing.

Contact me using the PM feature of the forum when you find your 8089 and make me an offer (if you are interested in selling it)...I have been looking high and low for one...I would be interested in the whole board and photocopy of the data sheet...I will be willing to pay for this and any expenses with copying and shipping. Yes, I can wait as long as needed for this.
All the best

Just a quick update...I found an old copy of the 8089 I/O processor handbook published by Osborne on amazon for 14 bucks...quite a bit less than the hundred plus I have seen it for on specialty used book sites! Yes, I have ordered one to go in my growing u-processor library. When I get it, if anybody want's a photocopy of a certain page, e-mail me.
All the best,
Joe
