    Hi Min,

We have a Bi-Step motor controller that will work for your project.· Here is a link for more information:

I am not sure that there is any "default" type code for this. It is a matter of trial and error. I have been working on this type of project for some time. Is the BiPolar motor 4 or 5 wire? If you have a pic of the whole unit, PM it to me and I may be able to help. I have several small programs that I created just for testing various stepper motors with and without controllers.

could you attach a drawing of how you have your motors connected to the chips and a description of what you want to send to the controller to drive the motors.

Is it really necessary to add a stepper motor controller to a BS2? Certainly a Stamp can drive a stepper, it's been done many times. Other than controlling many steppers and running out of I/O pins, why not use the Stamp and a ULN2803 or equiv to drive the stepper directly? I bet in many cases the Stamp could handle the job.

Martin_H: In the thread below you said speed was a limiter. Is that really the case? Maybe I better get a stepper and stop shooting my mouth off. :)

The OP made two posts in this thread in 2005, and none since. I don't think PMs or replies SEVEN YEARS LATER are likely to be forthcoming!

Or, just the opposite. He's been patiently, silently waiting for some human interaction. You know, like the aliens waiting patiently for the crew of Prometheus?
