External serial A/D converter with BS?

I'm using RCTIME to read my analog signal of interest, but it takes too long - making my control loop execute too slowly.· Has anyone interfaced an external serial A/D converter chip·to a Basic Stamp·using SEROUT and SERIN?

    Check out the Analog and Digital Interfacing course -- it interfaces an 8-pin A to D converter using SHIFTIN/SHIFTOUT.
