I went to my local Radio Shack and purchased a 26-082 Game Hawk "PS2 compatible" game·controller
and breakaway extension cable 26-671. The cables color codes do not match the above mentioned documentation. No surprise, just a headache.·As per Jon's recommendation, I hacked the extender cable
My findings were this:
The extender cable pins 1-7 use the resistor color code
·1···· brown
·2···· red
·3···· orange (not used)
·4·····yellow
·5···· green
·6···· blue·
·7···· purple
·8···· white·· (not used )
The Clock did not require inversion ( didn't need the transistor driver for the clock)
I was thinking this might save somebody time. Certainly parts can change over time and these probably weren't the parts referenced in the article, but they are what showed up at my Radio Shack in·Houston.
